A planning application has now been submitted to Southwark Council and is available to view and comment on via their planning portal.
The application is for:
“Demolition of the existing buildings and redevelopment to provide a mixed use development comprising five buildings of a variety of heights with basements, providing affordable and market homes (Class C3); flexible floorspace for commercial business and service uses (Class E) and local community and learning uses (Class F1/F2(a)(b)); public open space and playspace; private and communal amenity space; formation of new accesses and routes within the site; alterations to existing accesses; and associated car and cycle parking; refuse storage; and hard and soft landscaping; and associated works.”
As this is a statutory consultation process run by the council, all feedback on the plans at this stage will need to be submitted direct to the council.

Following feedback, we’ve revised our proposals for Phase 2B of the Aylesbury regeneration. These designs are now available for you to view and we are asking for any further comments. Please view the ideas on this Commonplace website and let us know your thoughts. These will be taken on board by the architects before we submit the masterplan for planning permission later in Spring.

It was great to meet many of you at events throughout October where we shared how your feedback has helped inform the latest plans for Phase 2B of the Aylesbury regeneration. We spoke with over 40 people at public exhibitions, and through workshops in person and online. The consultation is still open for comments. If you haven’t already, please view the ideas on this Commonplace website and let us know your thoughts.

You can also visit the Aylesbury Now website to find out more about the regeneration and opportunities to get involved.
As you may already be aware, since July we have been engaging with Aylesbury residents and the wider community on the new vision and plans for Phase 2B, as part of a wide-reaching consultation on the plans that will run into the Spring of next year.
So far, we have met with over 110 people at our pop-up events around the estate, and also have held a series of meeting local residents and key groups. More information on this process and how you can get involved can be found on the ‘Get Involved’ page, here.
While this consultation has kept us busy, Notting Hill Genesis remains committed to our existing community investment programme, which sees over half a million pounds invested into local communities to ensure that they directly benefit from the ongoing regeneration of the Aylesbury estate.
We therefore wanted to recap on just some of the activities and engagements we have been doing to this end over the summer months, and also flag some fresh training opportunities that you, or someone you know, might want to get involved with at this time.
As we head into autumn, we will be holding more consultation events on Phase 2B and also on Contract C of the First Development Site. Look out for more information coming soon!
It’s good to be back (in person!)
It was great to be back in person for this year’s Summer Programme.
This year's activities included drama, spray painting, dance, pottery and cycle skills (to name just a few). There has been something for everyone and the young people who joined the programme have developed many skills over the summer.
One resident who took part said, "I'm short of words to say how much we appreciate you and the whole team. Thank you so much for your support."

We also held a picnic where we got together with 25 members of our ‘Cuppa and a chat’ group.
Former resident, Moussa, a teacher and master craftsman of West African instruments, accompanied by his brother, provided some wonderful music so it didn’t take long before many were up dancing to the music!
One resident said, “Many thanks…for all your hard work putting a lovely event together for us. We truly appreciate and loved every bit of it.” Another was pleased to see the joy it created: “It was good to see all the ladies up dancing to the music which was great, and the children happily decorating their canvas bags.”
